Description

  • Intermediate vessels are used in type 2 or multistage refrigeration to cool the refrigerant vapor after low pressure compression and to liquefy the refrigerant before entering the throttle valve by evaporating part of the liquid at high pressure. and intermediate temperature.

Working principle

  • With 2-stage refrigeration systems, especially those using NH3 gas, the temperature at the end of the first level of compression is very high, if not cooled, the system may malfunction and become inoperable. The system is fitted with an intermediate cooler to cool down the compressed gas at level 1.
  • The tank is designed to use a fluid supply cluster to reduce the gas to a low temperature and mix it with the level 1 compressed gas inside the intermediate tank. Gas after being cooled is sucked by the compressor through the upper suction pipe to continue performing the secondary compression process, a amount of moist gas after throttling falls down and condenses into a liquid at the bottom of the intermediate tank. The tank is always maintained at a constant liquid level thanks to the float valve. This liquid gas with intermediate temperature and pressure is used to throttle down to the deep negative temperature and feed into the evaporator to perform the freezing process.
